September saw a return to average, and even a slight drop in the number of spam messages.
August is proportionally more spammy simply because most companies are on ‘standby’ and receive fewer legitimate e-mails. Hence this return to an average more in line with the market. In September, we recorded an average of 87.93% spam and 0.8% viruses. Of all spam, 49.6% is from zombie computers.
