Email queues

We would like to inform you that we have just added new features to the ALTOSPAM administration interface. You can now access email queues for both incoming and outgoing emails.

For the incoming flow, all messages awaiting delivery are listed. In general, if messages are waiting, it’s because either your mail server is inaccessible, or there’s a delivery problem. If there’s a connection problem or your mail server is down, the queue will grow automatically. Once the connection has been re-established, you can test it and force email delivery (remember, the forwarding procedure is also automated, so no human intervention is required). The outgoing message queue (ALTOSPAM MailOut option) lets you view messages currently being delivered by ALTOSPAM to the Internet. If the ALTOSPAM MailOut servers have difficulty sending certain emails (e.g. the recipient server is temporarily unavailable), these emails will remain visible in the queue.

We’ve also added a “global statistics” page to the statistics section. This page shows all data: messages accepted, refused and temporarily refused, day by day, all domains and servers combined, since the start of ALTOSPAM implementation. A horizontal scroll bar makes it easy to read all the information, which can also be displayed with a simple mouse-over.
