The new Altospam interfaces

Altospam management consoles

With a view to improving our quality of service, just as we do with our filtering rules, our development team has redesigned Altospam’s admin and user interfaces. The leitmotiv of this development was to simplify access to information and the configuration of our solution.

The administration interface

The home page contains a wealth of information about the customer’s account, including domains, the number of e-mail addresses registered on the contract, its expiry date, the latest logs and statistics for the main domain. In addition to providing an overview, this dashboard gives you more direct access to the information you’re looking for.

The logs have a more streamlined display, making them easier to read, and an icon next to the subject allows you to search directly for all emails with the same subject over the selected period. The detailed log section, accessible via an icon, displays details of the mail transaction. Data categorization enables direct reading of the origin and destination of e-mails, as well as acceptance or refusal of e-mail relay.

Separating the various settings into separate pages makes reading and configuration quicker and easier. The DNS analysis carried out every day on the domains protected by our solution has enabled us to create a visual display showing any misconfigurations or errors, and the corrections required to bring the registration concerned into compliance.

This is used in the ‘managed domains’ section for domain MX fields, and in the SPF and DKIM sections for customers who have subscribed to the Mailout option.

The user interface

This interface is accessible to all users of domains protected by our solution, and requires no account creation by customer administrators. The connection can be made directly via the e-mail address or the Google or Linkedin account, if these are linked to the e-mail address protected by our system.

Once logged in, the user has access to the logs of his e-mail address only. Users can view quarantined e-mails directly, without having to download them. He can then choose whether to release them for delivery to his e-mail client or leave them on our server. This is also where users manage their white and black lists, which will apply only to their e-mail address.

The most important advantage for the administrator of providing access to this console for his users is that, in the event of failure or unavailability of his mail server, they can consult and reply to undelivered mail, which will be delivered as soon as connectivity to the server is re-established. This enables continuous mail processing while the mail server is being brought back into service.

These new interfaces have been designed to provide more direct access to the information and configurations of the domains we protect, as well as more relevant assistance for administrators. For more details on how they work, please consult the online help…
